Morrinsville Man Finds Missing Son
WORKING NEAR MELBOURNE NINE YEAR'S SEARCH ENDS (I'nited PA. —By Telegraph — Copyright) Received 10.45 a.in. MELBOURNE, To-day. Andrew West, aged 70, who left N e w Zealand for A ustralia recently to resume His nine years’ search for his son, Percival West, received information from Mr. George Emery, of the Grand Hotel, Mornington, that his son had been employed by him for the past seven years. Father and son are now reunited. The missing man, who was a New Zealand soldier, returned from the war wounded and was taken to hospital at Adelaide about nine years ago. Since fh»n his relatives have been unable to trflce him. Mr. Percival West joined one of the first Australian regiments for the front, and although three times wounded served until the Armistice. From Adelaide he last wrote to his . m ii v His father could not leave for Australia at once, but went later, intend;n„ to bring his son back with him, but could find no trace of him. \fr. Andrew West provided himself with * papers from the Defence De partment. and went to Sydney, then overland to Melbourne. . k Mornington is a seaside resort on Port Phillip, about forty miles south of Melbourne.
