LONDON MEAT MARKET Merchants report receipt of London cables as follows: — Bank of New Zealand, dated at close of last week:—“Frozen meat: The wether market is more active owing to shorter supplies from the Argentine. The market for ewes has improved owing to short supplies. The demand for lambs is good and is likely to continue so. Prospects for beef are more favourable.” New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., under date May 18: “New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb, 9Jd a lb; mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light, 6 7-8 d; wether and maiden ewe, heavy, 6d; ewe, light, s£d; ewe, heavy 54d; good demand.”
