BOWLING
Mount Albert Tournament. —The final of the mid-week tournament was played off to-day on the Mount Albert green. Notwithstanding’ the heavy rain during the night the green dried up surprisingly rapidly £.nd play was commenced at 2 p.m. The teams were: G. Hardley, Thomas. Irving Clarke and C. Hardley, of West End, and Harrison, Blake}', Finch and Wakerley, of Rocky Nook. Hardley led off with a five on the first head; Wakerley retorted with a four on the second. On the eighth head the teams were level at 8 all. Wakerley on the 12th ! head, bv pushing Hardley’s only counter out, secured a 7, but Hardley got 4 back by a drive on the next head On the 14th ! head the scores were 16 all, and 17 all 'on the 16th. Then on the next head Wakerley got 6 through a fast bowl by I Clarke, taking out Hardley’s back bowl:-. 1 Yet on the 20th head the scores were 23 all. i On the final head a good draw by ! Clarke moved the kitty an inch and ga\e ; Wakerley the shot This was not disturbed, so Wakerley won a very interesti ing game by the odd poini.
