Y.M.C.A. HARRIERS

Eighteen runners faced the starter in the first run of the 2928 season of the Y.M.C.A. harriers. The course of about two and a-half miles was a fairly stiff one, beigig over Wellesley Street East to the foot of Grafton Road, then up hospital hill to the Domain, thence via Park Road, down Grafton Road, and up the hill from Blandford Park into Wellesley Street again. The winner was J. Storry (Nomads), with a handicap of 3m; J. Herbert (Kia Tea), of 15sec, 2; and J. McComish (Tonga riro), scr. 3. Scratch man’s time, 12min 21s. F. Paton (Nomads) came a close fourth. The next run will take place in a month's time.
