PUZZLERS
The names of six well-known heavenly bodies are concealed in the following sentence: — As my brother and I were approaching the marsh we saw a Maori on foot, with a dog running beside him. I never saw a tamer cur, yet, somehow, we did not like him, so we ran, and they followed. It gave us a turn, even us, who generally leared nothing. “You ran us close,” said the Maori, as he caught us up. Word square: 1. A beautiful bird. 2. A reward for labour. 3. A great length of time. 4. Where birds sleep. Answers to last week’s puzzles: Word square: Help, Evil, Line, Plea. Jumbled articles in an ironmonger's shop: Hammer, rake, tacks, fender, trowel.
