PENALTY OF FAME IS—TAXATION
Pola Negri has discovered that one penalay of fame is the payment o f taxes, and she pays hers to five different Governments. Pola is a land owner on a large scale, operating estates in Poland, Germany and France, and holding properties in Georgia and California, in the United States. The Polish property is divided into tenant farms, while in France she owns a chateau situated on a small lake near Paris.
