LYRIC AND HIPPODROME
GREAT PROGRAMME “The Warning,” starring Jack Holt and Dorothy Revier. is now being shown to enthusiastic audiences at the Lyric and Hippodrome Theatres. “The Warning is a powerful picture of the British “Silent Service” at work in the underground dens of China. It is red-blooded drama, full of. action and tense situations, filmed against the subtle atmosphere of the Orient, with its mysterious brotherhoods and curious . temples undermined with secret passages and torture chambers. Jack Holt has a two-fisted role, in which he literally fights his way into the hearts of his audience and wins the love of the heroine. A fight on the stairs and an explosion in the temple key the audience to high tension, as it awaits the outcome in breathless suspense. “The Miracle of Life,” a story of motherhood, is also shown on the programme, and is played by a notable cast headed by Percy Marmont, the popular British actor, supported by Jae Busch and Xita iNaldi.
