“SAILORS’ WIVES”
‘•Sailors’ Wives," starring Lloyd Hughes and Mary Astor, is now being shown at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland. The story concerns Carol Trent, a wealthy girl, who meets Dorr Manning-, an American boy of moderate means, during a tour of Europe. They fall in love and agree to marry when Carol returns from Paris. Dorr arranges for the wedding, but receives a note from Carol on the day of the marriage breaking off the engagement without explanation. Heartbroken, he returns to America and stays with friends. One evening he is strolling through the streets and passes a house where a party is in progress. Carol is at the party. She is facingcertain blindness —the reason for breaking off the engagement. “Hills of Kentucky,” with Rin-Tin-Tin, the screen’s canine wonder, will also be shown to-night.
