CENTURY TO RED FUCHSIA PUWHERO WINS STEEPLES (From Our Own Correspondent) WANGANUI, To-day. The weather was fine and sunny for the concluding day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s winter meeting: the track was holding and the attendance was large. Results; RATA HACK Of £175; 15 miles. 6-HYMESTRASON, 9.0 1 I—MISTER GAMP, 10.13 2 10—GLENGARIFP, 9.0 3 All started. Won by two lengths. Time, 2.50 3-5. Mister Gamp's Great Run Mister Gamp, Troillus and Peneus | were favourites for the Rata Hack”; Hurdles. Hymestrason and Whisogne were out in front over the last round with Peneus prominent for a while, but then falling back, and Mister Gamp coming last. Hymestrason led into the straight and went on to win by two lengths from Mister Gamp, who finished with a great run and beat Glengariff by a neck for second place. Ballyfarnon was fourth, with Troil- ; lus and Peneus next. BALGOWNIE HACK Of £175; 1 mile. 1— BISOX, 8.4 1 2 AVRO, 8.9 2 S—GASNAPPEE, 7.0 3 All started. Won by three lengths. Tyne, 1.59 4-5. Favourite Wins Bisox, Avro and Kawakina were the favourites for the Balgownie Hack. Resinous, Some Lad and Royal Acre were early leaders, with Kawakina last. Some Dad took charge along the back and led from Resinous, Royal Acre, Royal Elm, Gasnapper, Freezeout and Bisox. Gasnapper and Bisox were the first to turn for home from Some Lad and Royal Elm, and Bisox came on to win easily by four lengths from Avro, who was two lengths in front of Gasnapper, with King Mart next.
