WAITAKARURU PROPOSAL (From Our Own Correspondent) NGATEA, Friday. In order to combat the competition of a proprietary dairy company whlsh is Setting a hold at Waitakaruru, the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company is discussing the erection of a cheese factory' in that district. The proprietary company has secured the promise of sufficient cows to justify it establishing: a bulking station where cream will be J’oig.hed and tested prior to being carted by motor to Te Aroha, and has already purchased a section of land for the purpose. A guarantee of at least 700 cows for the neit four years is required by the »>w Zealand Co-operative Dairy Com-Pa-ny before it will agree to providing a cheese factory. Hitherto the district has ®Wied the New Zealand Company’s ->gatea butter factory.
