MR. MILLS WILL FLY TO TE KUITI TO-MORROW
AERO CLUB PROPOSED RESIDENTS’ KEEN INTEREST (From Our Oicn Corespondent) TE KUITI, To-day. The committee recently formed to arrange the details of the proposed airplane flight from Auckland to Te Kuiti, has announced that Mr. Douglas Mills, accompanied by a Te Kuiti resident, will leave Auckland to-morrow and arrive here during the afternoon. The time of departure has not yet. been fixed, but arrangements have been made for a message to be sent to Te Kuiti immediately before the commencement of the flight, which is estimated to occupy a little over an hour. This will enable the residents to reach the landing ground and witness the arrival. It is proposed that Mr. Mill shall circle over the town several times before landing at Te Kumi, near the racecourse. Very keen interest is being evinced by the public, and arrangements are in train for Mr Mills to address a meeting in the evening on the possibilities of commercial aviation, after which it is proposed to set up a committee to gather information in regard to forming an Aero Club in Te Kuiti.
