MATCH FOR LECKIE

ASSOCIATION'S EFFORTS MATCH FOR JUNE 4 The Northern Boxing Association recently cabled to Norman Radford, the English feather-weight, who is at present in Australia, inviting him to come across to Auckland to fight Leckie. So far no answer has been received. A cable was later sent to Lachie McDonald, the Dunedin middle-weight, who is on the other side, asking him If he would return to New Zealand to fight Jim Broadfoot at Auckland on June 4. McDonald has replied that he is unable to come as he has engagements until July. The association is determined to arrange a match for June 4 if possible, and Mr. J. H. Watts, the secretary, stated this morning that he is cabling to a leading -welter-weight in Australia in an endeavour to arrange a fight.
