MEAT EXPORTERS IDLE
SLAUGHTERMEN STRIKE IN QUEENSLAND MANY WORKERS INVOLVED (United P. A. —By Telegraph — Copyright.) Reed. 10 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. The meat exporting companies in Southern Queensland have decided to cease operations for the present, owing to a dispute with the slaughterers, who refuse to comply with the award conditions. About 1,000 men will be idle, and these will probably be increased to 1,500, apart from the loss of trucking on the railways.
