BRITANNIA
“WHIRLWIND OF YOUTH” The tempestuous care-free life of the younger generation is the background for “The Whirlwind of Youth,” now being shown at the Britannia Theatre. Much of the story is laid in Paris, and the hectic studio life is shown in many colourful scenes. An unsophisticated girl arrives from an English village to study art, and her introduction to Paris is filled with surprises—though it brings the thrill and exaltation of a great love into her life. But the subsequent history of this girl, played by Lois Moran, emphasises anew the truth of the time-worn adage that “the course of true love never runs smooth.” The second feature is “Get Your Man,” starring Clara Bow. • Norma Shearer, who likes to do the unusual in her starring roles, plays the part of a travelling saleswoman in “The Latest From Paris,” her latest production. This is Miss Shearer's second inva.sion of man’s sphere. Her first was in “The Waning Sex,*’ where she portrayed the role of an attorney and outdid her own film husband before the bar of justice. Ralph Forbes plays the leading male role, that of a salesman for a rival wholesale house.
