“MERRY WIDOW” TOMORROW To-night the marvellous photoplay. “Resurrection.” will have its final screening at the Strand Theatre. Tomorrow, coming in a blaze of brilliant splendour, is “The Merry W idow.’ the year’s film sensation. The lilting intoxicating music—especially the famous waltz! —and the delicate and beautiful drama of that never-to-be-forgotten musical comedydrama, “The Merry Widow.” Never did anything exceed the wide and instantaneous success of this gem. doubtless because of its high entertainment values —haunting music, wonderful visions of gay Parisian life, and gripping love story.

Now Metro-Goldw*: produced this operetta on the screen. Lovers of the old romantic musical story will doubtless hear its call again, and thousands of younger folk will join their ranks to see the fairy-like romance of Sally O’Hara’s life. John Gilbert plays the part of the impetuous Royal lover — Prince Danilo.

Eve Bentley and her Strand Symphony Orchestra will play the original “Merry Widow” orchestral score, while preceding the screening of the photoplay is an effective prologue with Miss Ina Bosworth as the solo violinist. Another feature on the programme is “Miss New* Zealand in Movieland. ’ a film depicting her travels and experiences in America.
