CROQUET
The Carlton Club.—Mrs. Hamilton, president, presided over a large attendance at die annual meeting of members of the Carlton Croquet Club. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports showed that the season had been a successful one, both socially and financially. The membership of the club had been well maintained and, as a result of the special efforts put forth by the members, particularly the ladies, the season wound up with a goodly balance. A vote of thanks to Mrs. Perry for her gift of a shelter pavilion was accorded by acclamation. Silver cups for competition were presented by Mrs. E. Cucksey, Mrs. G. Tutt and Colonel Saville, and trophies by the following: Mesdames Hamilton, Perry, Ormiston, Syers, Tutt, Bird, Cottrell. Davy and Lawrence. The prize-winners for the season were as follow: —A championship: Colonel Savile; runner-up, Miss Keatley. B championship: Mrs. Lawrence; runner-up, Mrs. Savile. President’s handicap singles: Mrs. Davy; runner-up, Mrs. Allsopp. Handicap doubles: Colonel Savile and Mrs. T. Clark. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mrs. Hamilton; vice-presidents, Mrs. E. Cucksey and Mrs. T. Clark: secretary, Mrs. W. Perry; assistant' secretary, Mrs. Page; treasurer, Mrs. Wilson; hon. auditor, Mr. W. Perry; general committee, Mesdames Bird, Lawrence, Aicken and Allsopp; match committee, Mesdames Davy, Jennings and Mr. R. Lawrence; green committee, Mesdames Laurie, Hamilton and Mr. Lawrence; delegates to the Auckland Croquet Association, Mesdames Hamilton, Perry and Miss Keatley; social committee, Mesdames Gardner, Macartney, Syers, Wagstaff, Cornes, Tutt and James.
