FOREIGNER PAYS DEBT OF HONOUR
A comforting experience with a foreigner was quoted yesterday when Hospital Board members were bewailing the difficulty occasioned by patients who are unable to pay their fees. Single men, many of whom had dependants, it was suggested, were the worst offenders. A foreigner who spent over a fortnight in the hospital in October, disappeared after paying £3 in reduction of his account of £7 4s 6d. He was not heard of again until last week, when the board, through a German bank, received a cheque for the balance.
