VARIED CARGO

SUSSEX ARRIVES FROM INDIA The Federal steamer Sussex, under charter to the Union Steam Snip Company, arrived from Calcutta this morning with a cargo of rice, tapioca, tinned pineapples, and woolsacks. Good weather was experienced on most of the voyage, though it was fairly stormy on part of the trip down the Queensland coast. Calcutta was left on April 6, and calls were made at Rangoon, Penang, Singapore, Samarang, and Thursday Island, where the Torres Strait pilot was taken on board. A call was also made at Brisbane to replenish the bunkers. The vessel will go on to Southern ports after discharging at Auckland.
