Pres* Association. GISBORNE, "To-day. me Taranaki Oilfields reports that Gisborne No. 1 well is down, 2,770 feet in shale with a 6iin. diameter casing to 2,753 feet. The Gisborne No. 2 well is down to 470 feet in shale with hard concretions which have hindered progress. Below 440 feet the shale is sandy and shows some gas, a 12Ain. diameter casing is down to 452 feet.
