Derby Winner Back Martarma was on the tracks at Tticcarton last week and given trotting exercise. Pie is looking a picture in condition, and displays no signs of the slight leg ailment which necessitated temporary retirement three months ago. Waltzer As Hurdler Since the Waikato meeting Waltzer has been schooled over the hurdles on the local tracks, and has shown special aptitude in this department. On Tuesday morning he was sent over six jumps. The pace was on, but the Hymettus gelding fenced faultlessly. At the Auckland Winter meeting he is engaged in both hurdle and flat events.
