TYRE INDUSTRY RECORDS

In 1927 the tyre industry broke records for output and sales. There were approximately 62,000.000 pneumatic tyres sold against 58,000,000 in 1926. 42,000,000 in 1922, and 10.000.000 in 1914. says the Goodyear News. The market for 1927 was divided into 45,500,000 tyres for renewal business. 14,000,000 tyres for original equipment, and 2.500,000 for export shipments. Of interest is the fact that while the industry increased approximately 50 per cent, in the past five years, Goodyear increased its volume 100 per cent.
