KIA ORA DEPARTS.—A departure from Wellington this morning was the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Kia Ora, loaded with Dominion produce, for London. PLEIODON FROM SINGAPORE.—The Shell Oil Company advises that the tanker Pleiodon, which left Singapore on April 23 for Wellington, should arrive there tomorrow. NAURU CHIEF SAILS THURSDAY — Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the departure of the Nauru Chief from Auckland' for Nauru Island has been postponed until Thursday evening. OIL FROM SAN PEDRO.—The Norwegian motor tanker O. A. Knudsen sailed from San Pedro on Saturday with a cargo of bulk oil for the Union Company’s tanks at Miramar. She is due at Wellington on June 6. KAIRANGA FOR NEWCASTLE.—En route from Dunedin. Timaru and Lyttelton, the Union Company’s Kairanga i ett A Xew Plymouth at 8 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due to-morrow. After discharge here, the Kairanga proceeds to Newcastle to load for Wellington. HERMINIUS CLEARED COLON.—In continuation of her voyage from Wellington to London. Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Herminius is reported to have cleared Colon last Saturday. She sailed from Wellington on April 17. RUAHINE CLEARS PANAMA.— Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the liner Ruahine, en route from London and Southampton, arrived at Colon last Thursday and left Panama the following day for Wellington. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on June 1 and at Auckland three weeks later. FERNLANE ARRIVES.—An arrival in the stream this morning was the Norwegian motor-ship Fernlane from Port Arthur, Texas. The vessel later berthed at the Western Wharf to land the local portion of her cargo under the agency of Burns, Philp and Company, before proceeding to Napier, Wellington, New Plymouth and Australian ports to complete. TASMANIA DELAYED.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the steamer Tasmania has been delayed and now leaves New Plymouth to-morrow evening for Opua and Auckland to continue her loading. She is due here on May 21 and sails again on May 23 for Napier, Lyttelton and Wellington, to complete loading, sailing finally from the latter port on June 2 for West of England ports, via Montevideo and Las Palmas.
PORT NAPIER AT PANAMA—.The Commonwealth and Dominion Lin« steamer Port Napier is reported to have reached Panama last Saturday en route from Auckland to New York, Boston, Halifax and London. She was dispatched from Auckland on April IS. KANNA FOR WALPOLE ISLAND.— The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the Karina is to load at Grey mouth on Friday for Auckland and is due here early next week. After discharge here the Kanna proceeds to Noumea, thence Walpole Island to load phosphates for the Bluff. TEKOA LEAVES LON DON.— Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Tekoa sailed from London on Friday with general cargo to discharge at Suva. Auckland and Wellington. The vessel is due at Auckland on June 20. * MAMARI SAILS TO-MORROW. —L. D. Nathan and Company advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mamari will complete her loading at Auckland to-night and at daybreak tomorrow she will leave here for London and West of England ports, via Montevideo and Teneriffe. AORANGI FROM VANCOUVER. —Due at Suva at 7 a.m. on Thursday from Vancouver, the Union Company advises that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi leaves the Fijian port at 1 p.m. the same day for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday. At 1 p.m. next Monday the Aorangi sails from Auckland for Sydney. BARON FAIRLIE’S MOVEMENTS.— The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the tramp steamer Baron Fairlie leaves Auckland about Saturday for New Plymouth to complete her discharge of basic slag. From the Taranaki port the vessel proceeds to Port Pirie to load for Home. TAINUI CLEARED BALBOA. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tainui cleared Balboa last ~aturday in continuation of her voyage from London and Southampton. Besides passengers and mail for New Zealand the vessel has cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. She is due at Auckland on June 2. A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited, are the local agents.
SUSSEX DUE 8 A.M. TO-MORROW. — A further radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the chartered steamer Sussex is now expected to arrive at Auckland at eight o’clock to-morrow morning from Calcutta via wav ports. She will later berth at the Queen’s Wharf to land her local cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete. PORT AUCKLAND’S MOVEMENTS. —Advice has been received by the Farmers” Co-op. Auctioneering Company that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Auckland will leave New Plymouth on Saturday for Opua and Auckland. She is due here on May 23 and the following day she sails for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Wellington to complete her loading. The Port Auckland is scheduled to clear Wellington finally on June 7 for London, via Las Palmas.
QUEEN ELEANOR ARRIVES. —The tramp steamer Queen Eleanor arrived at Auckland at 4 o’clock this morning and berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to unload cargo from New York, St. John and Louisberg. The steamer left New York on April 7 and cleared the Panama Canal on April 15. The voyage to Auckland was uneventful, fair weather being experienced until last Sunday, when a moderate gale sprang up. After discharge at Auckland the vessel proceeds to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The New Zealand Shipping Company is the local agent. Captain Henry Berg is in command of the Queen Eleanor, and has associated with him the following officers:— Chief, Mr. R. J. McDonald; second, Mr. J. Leslie; third, Mr. G. Grant; chief engineer, Mr. W. C. Gould; second, Mr. W. Simpson; third, Mr. W. Herron; fourth, Mr. M. McMillan; chief steward, Mr. C. J. Guias; wireless operator, Mr. J. Jones.
TRANS -PACIFIC CARGO STEAMERS. —The Waikawa left San Francisco on Saturday for Los Angeles to complete loading for Apia, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth. She clears Los Angeles to-day. The Hauraki, from Sydney, via Suva and Honolulu, was due at Vancouver on Saturday. She proceeds thence to Powell River, Union Bay, Ocean Falls and San Francisco, to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. She clears San Francisco on June 1. The Waitemata, from Sydney, via Suva, is due at Vancouver on May 23, and proceeds thence to San Francisco and Los Angeles, to complete loading for Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney, The Waihemo will clear Sydney to-day f°r. Vancouver and San Francisco, via Fiji, to load for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due at Suva on May 22. The Wairuna leaves Wellington to-day for Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney, to complete discharge. She is due at ‘Melbourne on May 21. „ The Waiotapu left Los Angeles on May 6 for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due at Papeete on May 21, and at Auckland on June 1. TOFU A RETURNS. —The Union Company s Island passenger steamer Tofua (Captain Duncan McDonald), returned to Auckland yesterday afternoon from a voyage to Fiji, Tonga and Samoa and berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. Generally fair weather was experienced at the Islands, but after leaving Suva for Auckland strong south-east winds and rough seas prevailed for the first two days. Then there was moderate weather until early yesterday morning, when strong northerly winds and following seas were encountered and continued almost to port. The following passengers were on the Tofua: Captain H. and Mrs. E. Billington, Miss E. Bucknell, Mr. and Mrs. J. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. E. Carter, Miss H. Cousins, Mr. P. S. Crisp, Mr. W. DEPARTURES YESTERDAY RARAWA (3.30 p.m ), 1,077 tons. Bark, for New Plymouth. ISABELLA DE FRAINE (9.15 pm ) 110 tons, Texiera. for Hokianga. Jhe Arapawa is due at Onehunga early to-morrow morning from Wanganui and Will sail at 4 p.m., the same day for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads. The Rarawa is expected to arrive at Onehunga at 7.30 a.m., to-morrow from New Plymouth. She sails at 3 p.m. on Thursday on the return trip. The Isabella de Fraine, which left Onehunga last evening for Hokianga, returns to Onehunga on Thursday. TOTARA DUE S ATU R DAY.— Russell and Somers have been advised that the Company’s steamer .Totara is now due at Onehunga next Saturday from Nelson to load for Picton and Nelson. -She should leave Onehunga about to-dav week.
