HOCKEY
HAMILTON Hockey is keenly followed in Hamilton, and is rapidly developing there. This season there are six teams in each of the junior and senior competitions. The teams are drawn from the following clubs : Senior. —Old Boys, Old Boys’ Colts, Hinemoa, Y.M.C.A., Ngahinapouri and Kaipaki. Junior. —Old Boys, High School, St. James, Hinemoa, Y.M.C.A. and Kaipaki. The following are the results of matches played last week:— Seniors.—Hinemoa, 4, v. Ngahinapouri, 1; Old Boys, 3, v. Y.M.C.A, 0; Old Boys’ Colts, 4, v. Kaipaki, 0. Juniors.—Hinemoa, 3, v. Old Boys, 1; High School, 6, v. St. James, 5; Y.M.C.A., 1, v. Kaipaki, 0. OTOROHANGA Hockey matches played at Otorohanga last week resulted:— Men.—Otorohanga, 2, v. Te Kuiti, 2. Ladies.—Tui, Otorohanga. 4, v. Paterangi, 2. Miss Martin scored twice for Otorohanga, Miss Jean Osmond once, Miss A. Cullen once, Misses Churney and Macky scored one goal each for Paterangi. FRANKLIN Guest’s Shield Competition (men) resulted: —Kohe Kohe, 5 goals (Renall, 2, McNamara 1, Gillott. 1, Doull l) beat
Glenbrook, 2 goals (Conroy 2); Whirl Whiri, 4, beat Waiau Pa, 2. Avery Cup Competition (ladies) resulted:—Whiri Whiri, 6 (M. Brown 4. <1 Masters 2), beat Te Tora, 1 (Miss Harcombe); Te Kohanga, 3, beat Waiuku, 2. OKOROIRE GUN CLUB There was a fair attendance at the opening shoot of the Okoroire Gun Club Owing to local events, outside clubs were n °t very well represented.
