FOR HEENEY FIGHT
TUNNEY BEGINS TRAINING (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) NEW YORK, Sunday. The American heavy-weight boxer, Gene Tunney, has settled down to train for his bout with the New Zealander, Tom Heeney, for the heavy-weight title. Within an hour of his arrival at his training camp in New York State, he did some road work, which he plans to continue daily, with light gymnastic exercise for the next fortnight, until sparring begins. Keeney’s manager, Mr. Harvey, is still looking for a suitable site for a training camp for the challenger. FEATHER-WEIGHT BOXING LECKIE TO MEET GRIFFITHS Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. The Southland Boxing Association was granted permission by the New Zealand Council this evening to match Hector Leckie and T. Griffiths for a 15-round contest at Invercargill for a purse of £IOO on June 8.
