LOCAL AUTHORITIES’ POWER COMMONS APPROVE PLAN British Official Wireless Reed. noon. RUGBY, Sunday. The House of Commons yesterday approved by an overwhelming majority the proposal to give local authorities the right to veto and control dogracing. A private member's Bill, which embodies this principle, received the support of several Cabinet Ministers, ar.d has a good opportunity of becoming law. During the debate, it was stated that there are 45 tracks in this country.
