ROTORUA AT LONDON. —The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua, after landing passengers and mail at Southampton, reached London on Thursday. The vesel sailed from Wellington on April 4. WILLASTON LEAVES NEW YORK.— The steamer Willaston is reported to have sailed from New York last Wednesday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui. The vessel is running under the auspices of the A. and A. Line, and the New Zealand Shipping Company are the local agents. R.M.S. MAKURA AT SYDNEY. An arrival at Sydney on Saturday was the Royal Mail liner Makura from Wellington. The vessel is to leave Sydney on Thursday and Wellington the following Tuesday on her return voyage to Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco. TUTANEKAI RETURNS.—After a voyage to Samoa the Government steamer” Tutanekai, Captain J. Bollons, returned to Auckland at mid-day yesterday and berthed at Queen’s Wharf. With the newly-recruited members of the military police the vessel left Auckland on April 21 and reached Apia on April 28. After landing the police and their equipment the vessel took in bunker coal. She then embarked 58 marines (left at Samoa by the cruisers Dunedin and Diomede) and on May 3 she sailed for Auckland. On May 7 the vessel called at Suva for coal and provisions and next morning she resumed her voyage. Fine weather was ex- . perienced, strong south-east trades pre- [ vailing. To-day the spare bunks on deck ' and below will be dismantled and the vessel will also replenish her bunkers. To-morrow she will take in stores and on Wednesday she will proceed to the Hauraki Gulf, where the beacons and buoys will be attended to. The vessel will return again to Auckland on Saturday and ,she will remain in port during the weekend. Next Monday more stores will be shipped find afterwards she will proceed to Northern and West Coas.\ lighthouses.
