WARKWORTH NEWS
PRESENTATION TO MANAGER Mr. A. S. Carran. who has resigned his position as Warkworth manager for the North Auckland Farmers’ Cooperative Association, vras tendered a social in the Warkworth Town Hall on Friday evening. The hall was crowded. Mr. Macaulay, chairman of directors of the company, spoke highly of the good work done by Mr. Carran during his long connection with the firm, and expressed regret at losing his services. As a token of the esteem and with the good wishes of the company he asked Mr. Carran to accept a cheque for £IOO. Mr. W. Hamilton, on behalf of the many friends, also voiced thanks for the very excellent work done by Mr. Carran, and presented him with an inscribed gold watch. Mr. Mitchell, general manager of the Ann, on bcha'f of the staff, presented Mr. Carran with a case of pipes and a safety razor. Mr. Snelling, a director of the company, referred to the way in which Mr. Carran had been helped in his "’ ork by Mrs. Carran, and on behalf of the company asked her to accept a cheque with which to purchase a souvenir. Mr. Carran suitably replied.
