SIDE-CAR HITS DRAY
CYCLIST BADLY HURT LEFT LEG REMOVED (From Out Otcn Correspondent) HAMILTON, Saturday. Serious injuries were received by Mr. William Chirtney, aged 25 years, a farm hand, of Whatawhata, last evening, when the motor side-car he was riding at Karamu collided with a horse and dray driven by Mr. Leslie Whittaker, farmer, of Karamu. Mr. Chirney, who had his sister with him, fractured his left leg, which had to be amputated at the Waikato Hospital. He is progressing satisfactorily. Miss Chirney escaped with a severe shaking.
