“TILLY IN THE CITY”

STUDENTS’ PLAY TO-MORROW The University students’ production, “Tilly in the City,” will begin its season at His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow evening. A delightful story has been constructed about Mrs. Buff-Orpington, of Remuera, whose daughter Tilly is a modern maiden with a spice of the devil and a strong desire to see things for herself. She enters business, where her inexperience and her desire to find some method of distributing her wealth CE.uses her to be misunderstood and, on occasions, regarded with distinct suspicion. Round this story the author has built a full evening’s entertainment

with various scenes and innumerable opportunities for laughter and absurdities, and has introduced as secondary interest glimpses of movie trials, and of the internal workings of a lawyer’s office, which will interest and amuse any. Auckland audience. The students’ ballet, which is to be a feature of the play, is under the direction of Miss Majorie Turner and should prove an even greater success than last year. The artists taking part include Misses Beryl Nettleton, Lloyd, Buckingham

and O’Connor, and Messrs. Bryce Hart, G. Trevarthen, Lowe, Hutton, McLaren, Rattray, Fenwick, Plummer, Hay and Martin.
