M-G-M’s Customs Dept. For N.Z.
Mr. N. B. Freeman, managing director of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, has made the following promotions and appointments within his Australian and New Zealand organisations. Mr. W. Worboys, formerly N.S.W. office manager, to the position of head of statistical department: Mr. V. Schumacher from head office, Sydney, to office manager. South Australian branch. In order to handle all matters pertaining to customs and excise, Mr. Freeman has formed M-G-M’s own Customs Department in the New Zealand head office in Wellington. Maoriland now becomes a self-contained whole, as is now the case in Australia. Miss V. Archer has been appointed to the control of this department and she will also handle censorship matters. Mr. Smythe has been appointed assistant booker to the New Zealand office. In the Queensland branch, Mr. Alf Gadsby moves from the post of booking manager to a position with the sales force in that State, while Mr. Elliott assumes Mr. Gadsbv’s former jurisdiction.
