“TILLY IN THE CITY”
STUDENTS AT THEIR BEST “Tilly in the City,** will be presented i by the Auckland University students at His Majesty’s Theatre next Tuesday, and the box plan is now open at Lewis Eady. Ltd. Mrs. Buff-Orpington. of Remuera. was first introduced to Aucklanders in “Tilly of Tamaki.” She Xvill make a second appearance at His Majesty’s Theatre next week when we shall hear some of the trials and troubles of society leaders and of the woes which I affect modern mothers, who aspire to j political honours. Mrs. Buff-Orpington is still attended by Mrs. Fitzweezer, who appears at times to be a sort of animated echo whose presence gives her friend additional confidence. Mrs. Buff-Orpington’s daughter Tilly, has developed since last seen from an educated country girl, who lacked the advantages of a mother’s care and of cultured society, into a modern maiden with more than , a spice of the devil, an utter lack of respect for the fetishes to which her mother bows, and a strong desire to see things for herself and make up her I ;
own mind.
