£ & w i y 'i ADVERTISING CHARACTERS' Impersonation Competition In conjunction with the Advertising Exhibition being held in the Town Hall from May 22 to 26, the Auckland Advertising Club is offering a first prize of £lO 10 - for the best impersonation of any well-known advertising character, and a second prize of £5 5 -, ai well as several complimentary prizes. Competitors will be required to attend the Exhibition each night, and the characters must be easily recognisable without labels. Judging will be by popular ballot. Good The following Special Prizes have been offered:— £3/3/- for the best impersonation of Sylvia Starch “Nigger Boy.” Second Prize of £l/1/-. £3/3/- for best impersonation of "Bycroft Boy.” Second Prize, £l/1/-. (The First Prize will be increased to £5/5/- if the impersonation is very good.) £2/2/- for best character connected with His Master's Voice Gramophones or Records. Second Prize, £l/1/-. £3/3/- for best character representing Sunbeam Butter. Second Prize, £l/1/-. £3/3/* for best, advertising character for Dewar's Whisky. Second Prize, £l/1/. £3/3/- for best impersonation of George Fowlds’ “Beau Brummel,” advertising character. Prizes Remington & Roneo Agency: Prize of £3/3/- for suitably attired business girl. £2/2/- for the best impersonation of the "Old Dnt.l Cleanser lady. An extra Special Prize for the best advertising ehsraru. for “Pulnionas.’ 1 Fuller-Hayward Theatres are offering substantial pru* for the best impersonation by a lady of Dolores Del Bio or Tilma Banky, or own selection; and by a gentleman of Harold Lloyd or Lon Chaney, or own selection: and bv children of Jaekie Coogan, or Charlie Chaplin, or Farina. Owing to the great popularity of the competitions, further prizes are still being added, and wiH be advertised later.
