“THE MERRY WIDOW”
COMING NEXT WEEK The lilting, intoxicating music—especially the famous waltz!—and the delicate and beautiful drama of that never to be forgotten musical comedydrama, “The Merry Widow.” Never did anything exceed the wide and instantaneous success of this gem, doubtless because of its high entertainment values—haunting music, wonderful visions of gay Parisian life, and gripping love story. Now Metro.-Goldwyn-Mayer have reproduced this operetla on the screen. It will be shown at the Strand Theatre on Friday next. Lovers of the old romantic musical story will doubtless hear its call again, and thousands of younger folk will join their ranks to see the fairy-like romance of Sally O’Hara’s life. John Gilbert plays the part of the impetuous Royal lover Prince Danilo. The original score of music will be a feature of the presentation of the picture, and this alone will doubtless head all the fans in the direction of this sparkling masterpiece. The box plans open on Monday morning at the Strand booking officealso at Lewis Eady, Ltd.. Queen Street
