HIGH PETROL PRICES
MOTORISTS NOT SATISFIED PRIVATE COMPANY PROPOSED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Dissatisfaction with the present prices of petrol was expressed at a meeting of the council of the Canterbury Automobile Association on Monday night, and the question was discussed again to-night at the executive meeting of the South Island Motor Union. It was decided to set up a subcommittee lo go into a proposal to establish a company of motorists to import petrol. The scheme was discussed in committee. After an announcement of the decision in open meeting, a member of the executive said: “The price of petrol will be down on Monday morning.”
