CHURCH’S PROGRESS
ST. MARK’S, REMUERA “It has been a year of great progress, spiritually and financially,” stated the churchwarden’s report to the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Mark’s Church, Remuera. The Rev. G. C. Cruickshank presided over a large attendance of visitors. Feeling reference was made by the vicar to the death of Mr. Norman Williams, who was an active worker for many years. The main effort financially during the year was to arrange for ftie liquidation of the debt on the retired vicar’s cottage, and,, chiefly through the generous help of the ladies’ guild, the parish will now be able to discharge the mortgage liability over the cottage and leave it free from debt. The following officers were electedVicar’s warden, Mr. Ross; people’s warden, Mr. Totman; secretary of vestry, Mr G. N. Christian; members of vestry, Messrs. R. Abbott, H. M Didsbury, A. E. Harrison, L Grieve, F. M. Hills. E. Varley Hudson, A. M. Hume, A. B. Roberton and G*. D. Tunks.
