RAILWAYS REVENUE

AUCKLAND’S QUOTA OFFICER INVESTIGATING The falling off in railways revenue in the Auckland district, particularly through a substantial drop in the number of passengers carried, has been the subject of special investigation by the Railways Department. The director of Publicity for the department, and editor of the Kailway Magazine, Mr. G. G. Stewart, is in Auckland especially in this connection. The decrease in passenger revenue in the Auckland district has been more substantial than in other parts of the Dominion, and as a result of the visit of Mr. Stewart an active publicity campaign will be launched in an endeavour to retrieve the position.
