NETTING SALMON

SHOULD BE STOPPED OVER WEEK-END POSITION IN CANTERBURY Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Following the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society last night, the incoming council of the society will act on the following resolution in regard to the netting of salmon in the Waimakariri: “That the Marine Department be written to, recommending that the netting of salmon in the Waimakariri be stopped each Saturday till sunrise on the following Monday morning.” “It appears that the netting of salmon has had very serious effects on angling.” said Mr. C. H. Lawrence, president of the society.
