SEASON OPENS MAY 19
The president. Miss Johnstone, presided over a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Basketball Association on Wednesday evening. It was resolved that owing to tho large number of teams taking part .n the matches this season there should be seven grades instead of five. Tins would enable the committee to have the teams in each grade very evenly matched. The following grades wer<* agreed upon: Senior.—Edendale, Waratah. Training College A. Training Colelge B. University A. University B, Grammar 014 Girl.**, Seddon, T.W.C A.
Second.—Richmond Old Girls. I Diversity, College, Lynndale. Edendale, Victoria. Rata, Tahatu, Y.W.C.A.. Grammar Old Girls, Browne Bros. Third.—College. Seddon, Edendale. Manukau, Belmont, Richmond Old Girls. Grammar Old Girls, Y.W.C.A., New Lynn. Inter-house Green, Surrey Hills. Fourth. —College. Inter-house Brown. Wesley, “Herald.” Lynndale. Otahuhu, Manurewa. It was decided to open the competition matches on Saturday, May 19. The shortage of referees was attain discussed. and it was decided that each club should be asked to hand to the secretary not later than Tuesday the names of any members who would be I willing to act.
