SAVIDAN AND COOPER MEET AGAIN TO-MORROW

T3ATRONS of winter athletics in Auckland witnessed a stirring finish in the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club’s steeplechase at the Domain last Saturday afternoon, when N. F. Cooper and J. W. Savidan raced up the straight for the former to win by 12 yards. Savidan, who started from scratch, was handicapped by a bad ankle, and Cooper was off the 7sec mark. There is every prospect of another close finish to-morrow, when these two fine distance men will again meet. Cooper’s handicap has been reduced to ssec. and with Savidan well again, there should not be much between them.
