(From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Miss Julie Masters, who has been spending the last two months in Gisborne, returns to Hamilton this week. Mrs. Joubert, of Auckland, Miss I. Gerrard and Miss E. Gerrard, of Scotland, and Miss Morris, of Wellington, are staying at the Hamilton Hotel. At the fortnightly social in connection with Fairfield School, Mrs. A. S. Cliffe, the wife of the headmaster, made a presentation, on behalf of the school committee, to Mrs. R. S. R. Seddon. Mrs. Seddon has been a most enthusiastic secretary to the women’s committee, and will be much missed when she leaves for Otago nex* week. BRIDGE AT LYCEUM CLUB On Tuesday a bridge party was held at the Lyceum Club. The lounge itas gay with autumn-tinted chrysanthemums and foliage. Among those present were: Mrs. H .1. Scherer, chestnut panne velvet, banded with fur. Miss O. Johnson, black charmeuse, floral shawl. Miss R. Burley, pale pink georgette. The prize-winners were Mrs. J. Stevens and Mrs. Henderson. GOLF CLUB OPENING On Wednesday afternoon the Te Awamutu women opened their season’s golf. Canadian foursomes were played, and afternoon tea was provided. Those who took part in the play were Mesdames Blundell, Teasdale, O’Sullivan, Chamberlain. Oliphant, Barnett, Walker, Porritt, R. Jones, Teasdale, Misses McCarroll, Norman (2), Foche, Gibson (2), M. Quin, E. Peake, 'Wallace. Montefiore, and E. Chittenden. Miss Quin, the club captain, presented the winners of the competition, Mrs. Blundell and Miss McCarroll, with trophies that were given by Miss Wallace, the secretary.
