TE AWAMUTU NEWS

CAMPING SITE SUGGESTED Mr. M. H. Wynyard. representing motorists on the Main Highways Board, will speak on the board’s policy at the next monthly luncheon of the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Battson, who is the local agent for the Auckland Automobile Association, said at the meeting of the chamber last evening that a comprehensive review of the signposts in the district would be put in hand and completed before next Christmas. It was pointed out that Te Awamutu was lacking in the matter of camping-grounds for motorists, and a suggestion was made that the old mission site might be utilised as one. It was a beautiful and convenient location and water is laid on. A committee consisting of Messrs. Bockett, Battson, McCurdie and Oliphant was appointed to prepare data and report to next meeting.
