PERSONAL. —Mr. R. B. Steei'e has been appointed third officer of the Kurow. Captain E. R. Lowe has rejoined the Corinna, relieving Captain A. S. Dalgleish, who is awaiting instructions. Mr. L. R. Leeder has relieved Mr. H. A. Litchfield as third officer of the Waikouaiti. Mr. S. H. Crawford has arrived from Sydney, and is awaiting orders. DEVON LEAVES MONTEVIDEO. — Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Federal steamer Devon arrived at Montevideo on Friday from Wellington, and sailed again on Saturday for Dakar, en route to London and Hull. FROM CANADA AND NEW YORK.— The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that the Pipiriki arrived at Montreal on Friday to commence loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel will load also at Sydney (C. 8.), and New York. KAIKORAI REPORTS. —According to a radio message received by the local office of the Union Company, the collier Kaikorai is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 11 a.m. to-mor-row from Newcastle. She will later berth at the Western "Wharf, and after discharge, the Kaikorai undergoes her annual overhaul and survey at this port. lONIC FOR HOME. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s liner lonic, which sailed from Wellington yesterday morning for Southampton and London, via Panama, took the following passengers:— First class: Miss N. TUTANEKAI DUE SUNDAY. —Radio advice lias been received that the Government steamer Tutanekai is expected to arrive in Auckland at noon on Sunday from Apia and Samoa.

MAUNGANUI SAILS TO-MORROW \t 3 p.m. to-morrow the Union company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Maunganui leaves Auckland for S> dne\. where she is due next Tuesday morning. OTOKIA UNDOCKS. —This morning the Union Company’s tanker Otokia undocked after having her hull cleaned and painted. Early this afternoon she sails for Sanhuis, California, to load for W ellington.

ROTORUA HOME. —Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the liner Rotorua arrived at Southampton on Wednesday morning from New Zealand. The vessel sailed from Wellington on April 4. AKAROA WITH RAFT. —The ParkerLamb tug Akaroa (Captain Jackson) arrived at Auckland this morning from Ponui Island with a raft of logs. This evening she leaves for Whangaroa to pick up another raft. KINTYRE DOCKING. —This afternoon the tramp steamer Kintyre docks for cleaning and painting. To-morrow she leaves Auckland for Westport, where she bunkers before proceeding to Nauru Island to load for Australia or New Zealand.

WAIPAHI SAILING. —The local office of the Union Company advises that the Island fi'uit steamer \Vaipahi, which arrnved at Auckland yesterday from Suva, leaves at S o’clock this evening for Rarotonga, thence Mangaia and Aitutaki to load for this port. FERNLANE FROM TEX AS.— Burns, Philp, and Co., Ltd., advise that the steamer Fernlarie, with case oil from Texas, is due at Auckland next Tuesday. The vessel left* Port Arthur, Texas, on April 13, and Balboa, her last port of call, on April 20. TURAKINA'S LOADING ITINERARY. —The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Turakina leaves Dunedin on Sunday for loading at Oamaru thence Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton and Wellington. She is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on June 2 for London, via Panama. SUSSEX REPORTED. —Cable advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the chartered steamer Sussex arrived at Brisbane at 0 a.m. yesterday from Calcutta and way ports, and was to leave again at 3 p.m. for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday. NORFOLK LEAVES PANAMA. Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Federal steamer Norfolk arrived at Panama on Saturday from Liverpool, and sailed the same day for New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland on May 21. NAURU CHIEF REPORTS. —According to a radio message eceived by Henderson and Macfarlane, the tramp steamer Nauru is expected to arrive at Auckland p.m. to-morrow from Nauru and Ocean Island. The vessel has a full cargo of phosphates for discharge at this port. TASMANIA TO LOAD. —Due at New Plymouth on Sunday from Australia, the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Tasmania commences loading there, and later fills up at Opua, thence Auckland (May 19 to May 22), Napier, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is to sail finally from Wellington on June 2 for West of England ports, via Montevideo and Las Palmas. BARON FAIRLIE DUE 7 P.M. TODAY.—A further radio message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the tramp steamer Baron Fairlie is flow expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 7 o’clock this evening from Antwerp. The vessel, which has basic slag for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth, will berth at the King’s Wharf to-morrow morning. WIRRAL ARRIVES. —ShortIy after 1 p.m. to-day the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Wirral arrived in the stream at Auckland from Suva. The vessel, which is bringing New York cargo for discharge under the agency of The New Zealand Shipping Company, will later berth at the Queen’s Wharf to tinload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, to complete. HORORATA TO LOAD. —The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the steamer Hororata leaves Wellington at daybreak on Saturday for Auckland, where she is due next Monday, to commence loading for Home. From .here the vessel proceeds to Napier, thence Lyttelton and Wellington, to complete, and is to sail finally from the latter port on May 31 for London, via Panama.

MAMARI DUE TO-NIGHT. —The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Mamari left Gisborne at 9 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due this evening to complete her loading under the agency of L. D. Nathan and Company. She is to berth at the Queen’s Wharf tomorrow morning, and at daybreak next Tuesday she sails from this port for London and West of England ports, via Montevideo and Teneriffe.

PORT ADELAIDE’S PASSENGERS.— The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Adelaide, which left Port Chalmers yesterday morning for London, via Las Palmas, took the following passengers:— Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hassock and two children (from Sydney), Dr. and Mrs. H. W. Webber (from Dunedin), Mrs. and Miss Bettargh (from Wanganui), Mr. E. J. P. Denney (from Dunedin), Mrs. Purnell and two infants (from Christchurch), Dr. Rennie (of Wellington) accompanies the vessel as ship’s surgeon.

MATAKANA ARRIVES. —An arrival in the stream at Auckland yesterday afternoon was the Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Matakana from Liverpool. After pratique was granted, the vessel berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo, under the auspices of L. D. Nathan and Company. The Matakana had an uneventful voyage from Liverpool, and experienced fine weather throughout, except for the! last three days. An average speed of 12.45 knots was maintained. The vessel left Liverpool on March 31, and reached Colon on April 15. She passed through the canal the following day. After discharge of the local consignment of her cargo of general merchandise, the Matakana will unload at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel will return to Auckland to load, .and will sail finally from Wellington on June 16. Captain H. P. Thurston is in command, and with him are the following officers: Chief officer. Mr. E. ISABELLA DE FRAIXE (10.30 p.m.) 110 tons, Texiera, for Hokianga. The Rarawa is expected to leave Onehunga at 3.30 p.m. to-day for New Plymouth, and is due back again at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday. The Arapawa, which is due at Onehunga on Saturday morning from Raglan and Kawhia, sails the same day for Wanganui. The Totara is expected ai Onehunga next Thursday to load for Nelson and probably West Coast ports.
