CANADIAN EXHIBITION
NEW ZEALAND DISPLAY EMPIRE MARKETING SECTION (From Our Resident Reporter .) WELLINGTON, To-day. New Zealand is to be represented in the Canadian National Exhibition at Toronto in August, but only in a section of the Empire Marketing Board’s division, and not in a separate display. The invitation to take part in the exhibition was received by the Government late last year, and after full consideration it was decided not to make a full national display on the lines of that shown in the 1926 exhibition, but to co-operate with the Marketing Board in building up a representative Empire section. The Marketing Board is making the appeal of its section as diversified as possible on behalf of the whole Empire, and most of the overseas Dominions will take part in the joint effort. The New Zealand exhibits will be arranged by the High Commissioner’s office in London, and a number of exhibits will be sent direct from the Dominion to augment those already available. A special feature will be a display of the Dominion’s primary produce, which is finding an increasing sale in Canada, and there will also be shown photographs of New Zealand scenery, and general publicity matter, with a view to encouraging more Canadians to visit their sister Dominion in the south.
The Department of Industries and Commerce has charge of the preparations here.
