West Indies made 185 for eight wickets in their second venture. Surrey defeated Hampshire on the first innings. The later scored 454 for six wickets in their second innings (Mead 97, Tennyson 84, Newman 115). Cambridge University drew with Leicester. The latter’s second innings yielded 394 (Astill 89, Oscroft 50). Cambridge, in their second venture, made 73 runs for six wickets. Lancashire defeated Northamptonshire bv an innings and 16 runs. In their second innings the losers compiled 228 (Jupp 72, J. Timms 60).
