GILLESPIE RETURNS
“NO MATCHES,” HE SAYS OTAGO’S PRESENTATION Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. The Australian feather-weight. Norman Gillespie, returns to Melbourne by the Manuka to-day. The Otago Association is unable to match him with Leckie at Bst 41b, which he stipulated, and he had no prospect of further New Zealand engagements. The association presented him with an oak shield as a memento of his visit.
Gillespie's decision to return to Australia is difficult to understand, in view of the fact that the Northern Boxing Association has been endeavouring to match him with Leckie for the past fortnight.
