NEW ROAD BOARD
MOUNT WELLINGTON MEETING i At the first meeting of the newlyelected Mount Wellington Road Board, held last evening, Mr. G. Kay was elected chairman. As the result of a ballot to select two members to retire at the end of one year's term, Messrs. G. Kay and A. Hare, i who topped the poll at the recent elecj lion, were selected. ! 11 was decided that the full board j make a general inspection of the roads I and works of the district on Tuesday j next. | A conference was arranged to take j Place with Mr. E. V. Blake, town planner, | for Thursday, May 17, to discuss the future development of the district. The clerk was instructed to ask the City Council to forward a copy of the proposed alterations to the time-tables and fares of the bus services operating within the district, for perusal before the next meeting of the licensing board. The clerk was instructed to forward a copy of a circular sent throughout the district by the Ratepayers’ Association during the prohibited period before the recent election, to the board's solicitor, with instructions to act. The chairman and clerk were appointed to confer with the Commissioner of Crown Lands on the site of the Mount Richmond Reserve, to discuss the future investment of the reserve between the Mount 'Wellington Road Board and the Mount Richmond Domain Board.
