MICE AND WALLPAPER

4 CORRESPONDENT, “Wallpaper,” writes: “I have a small bach with unsightly wooden walls, at the seaside, and I found after a few weeks’ absence that the mice had eaten a great deal of the wallpaper, and the remainder had peeled off. Could you advise something to use in the paste to prevent the mice eating the paper?” There is only one thing to do in this case. You will have to purchase some corosive sublimate from your chemist, but will have to obtain a permit to do so, as it is deadly poison. Either mix this with the paste, or put it over the walls before pasting on the paper. This method is at least effective in dealing with the mice.
