EVANS-GANGE CONCERTS

FIRST CONCERT ON SATURDAY After an absence of over seven years, Miss Amy Evans, the famous Welsh soprano, and Mr. Fraser Gange, the popular Scottish baritone, return for another tour of New Zealand. The popularity of these two great singers is suph that they are enthusiastically welcomed wherever they appear. They are certainly two of the best equipped and most talented vocalists of the day, and their success has been prodigious. Both are remarkably fine artists who make the most of exceptional natural endowments. Both have splendid voices, which are a joy to hear. “Miss Amy Evans has one of those wonderful voices which will do anything the'* are told. You want a top C without preparation? She simply picks it out of the air and gives it to you without more ado. Mr. Fraser Gange is not content to give a mere instrumental rendering of a vocal melody,” says the “Ball Mall Gazette” critic, “one could hear him sing many songs without being satiated.” Mr. E. J. Gravestock announces that Miss Evans and Mr. Gange will gfve two concerts only in the Concert Chamber on Saturday and Tuesday next, when three specially prepared programmes will be given, including selections from grand opera, oratorio, German Lieder, French chansons, modern and classical ballads, and the national songs of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
