TOKYO’S NEW SUBWAY
TRAINS EVERY SIX MINUTES The first underground transportation system in Asia was recently inaugurated when the new Tokyo subway was opened to the public. The new system is said to combine the best features of the lines in New York, London and Paris, and to have a few innovations of its own. Cars carrying 200 passengers are scheduled to leave every six minutes, although this interval has been shortened to three minutes in rush hours.
