Mr. H. G. Gillespie controls the Auckland activities of the firm of Gil lespie Bros., sharebrokers.

Born at the Thames , Mr. Gillespie commenced to handle stocks and shares at an early age. As a. qualified accountant he was admitted to the Thames Stock Exchange at the age of 22. At the time of the Waiotahi boom around 1906 he teas joined by Mr. P. M. Thomson, who conducted the Auckland business for the firm. About 1916 Mr. Gillespie came up to Auckland, and , following the retirement of Mr. Thomson, as joined by his brother, and the business teas carried- on under the name of Gillespie Bros. Mr. Gillespie is a member of the Auckland Stock Exchange Committee , and also holds a seat on the executive of the Neio Zealand Stock Exchange Association.
